HEALTH CARE FOR FOREIGNERS

Foreign nationals, EU or not, with subscription to the National Health Service (SSN) acquire the right to make use of all health care provided for equal treatment with Italian citizens, with the obligation to contribute to its validity time .

Citizens and non-EU foreigners, not covered by the SSN, however, have guaranteed the "patient care and hospital urgent or even essential to continuing illness and injury", including preventive medicine programs to safeguard the individual and collective health.

1 FOREIGNERS WITH REGULAR ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT OF REGISTRATION TO SSN

Who is obliged to subscribe to S.S.N.
Foreign nationals who hold residence permits regular place of paid employment, self-employed or are registered with the employment rolls;
foreign nationals legally residing or those who have applied for renewal of residence permits for employment, for self-employment, for family reasons, asylum, asylum, waiting for adoption, foster care, acquisition of nationality or for religious reasons;
dependent family members (residing legally) of foreign citizens in the categories listed above.

They have no obligation to subscribe to S.S.N. foreign nationals not falling within these categories, even if they have to insure against the risk of disease, injury and maternity insurance policies through valid on Italian territory, even for dependent family members.

2. How and Where do I register
To subscribe to S.S.N. must travel to the offices Assisted Population of the territory where you are resident or in which there is actual residence in all the health districts Provincial Health Authority. E 'need to provide:

residence permit;
Self-certification of residence or stay (considering the usual residence hospitality for more than three months at a reception center).

3. Validity that the registration has

4. What you are entitled

2 FOREIGNERS REGULAR ATTENDANCE IS NOT ENTERED IN THE SSN

Foreign nationals residing legally that are not among those who are obliged to enrollment in the SSN, have two possibilities:

a)      Voluntarily register with the SSN, along with their families, whether in Italy. You can apply for voluntary registration if:
- Non-EU citizens: in possession of a residence permit for more than three months (with the exception of the study permit);
- EU citizens: if you have adequate financial resources or enrollment in courses of study.
Registration is not provided if you hold a residence permit for health reasons.

b)       Insurance against the risk of illness, accident and maternity by entering into a special insurance policy with an Italian or foreign insurance institution, which is valid throughout the country.


3 ENTRY AND RESIDENCE FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT

  1. Where and how you are applying for entry visa if you wish to receive medical treatment in Italy may be required, along with possibly a companion, a special entry visa to the competent Italian diplomatic or consular representation in their country.
    Once in the State, within 8 days, it should require specific residence permit at the Police Headquarters of the place where you intend to use care. Otherwise, the applicant will be considered illegal alien.
  2. Documents required
    Documents to produce:
    health certification, attesting to the disease;
    statement by the Italian healthcare facility chosen specially accredited public or private, indicating type of treatment, starting date and estimated duration of the hospital itself and of the case;
    certificate of deposit in favor of the property, a sum of money (30% of total) on the basis of the estimated cost of the services required;
    documentation proving the availability of sufficient resources in Italy for the full payment of medical expenses and those of food and lodging outside the health facility;
    evidence of sufficient resources for the return trip for the client and his companion.

    The certificate issued abroad must be accompanied by a translation into Italian.


4 FOREIGN undocumented (non EU)

Those who are not complying with the rules on entry and residence, however, has the right to health care and hospital outpatient or emergency essential, even continuing to illness and injury, in public or contracted private.
To do this you must request from any ASP Assisi in the Registry or from the dedicated offices in hospitals and in the Territory, a card, called STP (Foreign Temporarily Present), valid for six months, but renewable. To achieve this you must declare:

Access to health facilities does not involve any type of reporting to public authorities. It must be borne in mind that in some cases (on grounds of public policy or for other serious reasons) Public Authority may obtain the report, as is the case with Italian citizens.

5 CITIZENS COMMUNITY DWELLER NOT REGISTERED IN THE S.S.N.

For EU citizens (citizens of a European Union country) present for longer than three months in conditions of poverty, lack of requirements for entry to the SSN, not in possession of TEAM, the European Health Insurance Card or other model issued by the competent institution of the country of origin, it is guaranteed access to health services for urgent and essential.

Code ENI
to take advantage of social and medical benefits as described below, has issued the Code ENI (European unsubscribe). The card is issued by ENI of the same office that issues the card STP: Population Assisi or dedicated offices in hospitals and the territory of any ASP. E 'valid for six months and is renewable. To achieve this you must show proof of identity and ask for the compilation of a statement in lieu of an address within the region and the impossibility of temporary registration in the NHS and the condition of poverty.

The Code ENI ensures:
